Slovakia's new prime minister opposes military aid to Ukraine

Political attitudes in Slovakia are undergoing significant changes after the appointment of a new prime minister, Robert Fico, who made an important statement regarding military aid to Ukraine. Recently, it became known that the Slovak Ministry of Defense was considering providing Ukraine with additional military assistance, but this initiative is being blocked by President Zuzana Chaputova, who is responsible for decision-making in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Zuzana Chaputova believes that it is important to respect the results of democratic elections and make decisions that are in line with the will of the citizens. The Smer-SD party, which has formed a coalition with other parties, promises not to provide military support to Ukraine, which is a new turn of events in the Slovak political picture.
