Thanks to Ukraine, Poland remains safe - Duda's statement

President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that thanks to the courage and bravery of Ukraine's defenders who are defending their country from Russian aggression, Poland can feel safe today. His statement was made during the solemn events dedicated to the Day of the Polish Army and published by the PAP agency.

Andrzej Duda emphasized that a full-scale war has been going on in eastern Europe for more than a year and a half, as a result of which the Russian Federation aggressively invaded the territory of independent Ukraine, causing bitter suffering and losses.

"This war is still ongoing, and it does not seem to have an end," the President added.

The Head of State noted that Poles had been actively helping Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression from the very beginning, supporting the country and providing necessary assistance.

"Thanks to this joint assistance, Ukraine is defending itself and continues to fight. And it is thanks to the tireless courage of Ukrainian defenders who inflict painful losses on the aggressor that Poland can feel safer today," Duda emphasized.

He added that Poland's security is inextricably linked to the support and solidarity that the country shows towards Ukraine.

"If someone does not understand this, criticizes our common attitude or assistance, it means that they do not understand what Poland's security is based on," Andrzej Duda concluded.
