  • Cake with nuts, poppy seeds and apricots

    This cake is a real find for lovers of a variety of flavors. It combines three layers: with walnuts, poppy seeds and apricots. Each crust turns out soft, fragrant and complements the others, creating a rich taste. Easy to prepare, it will become a decoration for any table.

    ingredients
    For the dough for each cake:

    1 egg
    0.5 cup of sugar (~80 g)
    115-120 g sour cream (25% fat content)
    0.5 tsp. baking soda
    0,75-1 cup of flour (~70-100 g)
    1 tbsp. starch
    0.75 cup walnuts (for the first crust)
    0.5 cup poppy seeds (for the second cake)
    0.5 cup apricots (for the third cake)
    For the cream:

    100-150 g butter
    0.5 can of condensed milk (~200 g)
    For decoration:

    chocolate shavings
    walnuts

    Before preparing the dough, you need to prepare the additives. Lightly dry walnuts in a frying pan and chop them with a knife. Rinse apricots, pour boiling water for 15 minutes, then dry and cut into cubes. Rinse the poppy seeds, pour water over them and cook over low heat for 20-30 minutes, then sieve and squeeze well through gauze.

    For each cake the process is the same: in a bowl beat the egg with sugar, add sour cream and baking soda, mix. Sift the flour with starch and introduce it into the dough. In the first portion of the dough add walnuts, in the second - poppy seeds, in the third - apricots. Bake each portion of dough separately at 170-180 °C for 18-20 minutes. Leave the cakes to cool.

    Beat soft butter until fluffy, then, without stopping beating, add condensed milk. The cream should turn out airy and smooth.

    cake assembly
    Cream the cooled cakes and stack them on top of each other. If necessary, trim the edges. Cover the top and sides of the cake with the remaining cream, sprinkle with chopped nuts and chocolate shavings.

    setting and serving
    For the cake to fully reveal its flavor, it is better to leave it in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, or better for two days. This way it will become even more tender and flavorful. Before serving, you can additionally decorate it with chocolate or berries.
