The United States' decision to halt military aid to Ukraine was made without any prior consultations with allies, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski said, stressing that the move was made without discussions with NATO partners and the Ramstein Group, which coordinates support for Ukraine.
According to Wronski, former US President Donald Trump made the decision unilaterally, without taking into account the positions of countries directly involved in providing aid to Kyiv. This has raised concerns among European leaders, as US support is a key factor in Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded quickly to the situation. In a post on the X platform, he stressed the importance of a stable and independent Ukraine for the security of all of Europe, including Poland.
"A sovereign, pro-Western Ukraine, capable of defending itself from Russian aggression, means a stronger and safer Poland. Anyone who questions this obvious truth contributes to Putin's triumph. Understand?" — Tusk wrote.
The head of the Polish government also reported that data from the logistics hub in Jasionka confirm that the military aid that the US planned to transfer to Ukraine has now been stopped. The Polish side is already analyzing the situation and its possible consequences for the security of the region.
The suspension of US military support for Ukraine could significantly affect the ability of the Ukrainian army to deter the Russian offensive. At the same time, EU countries, in particular Poland, France and Germany, declare their readiness to strengthen support for Kyiv to compensate for possible losses in the supply of weapons and ammunition.
