Chocolate pies have a special place in the culinary traditions of many countries, and in Germany this dessert has become truly iconic. Its rich flavor, aroma of spices and texture, thanks to almonds, conquer the hearts of many sweet lovers. This recipe is a great way to prepare a delicious and hearty dessert that is perfect for tea parties and holiday tables.
To begin with, let's prepare all the necessary ingredients. You will need:
100 g of butter,
2 eggs,
170 g of brown sugar,
75 g of chocolate,
200 g flour,
1 tsp. baking powder,
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon,
1 tbsp. rum,
1/2 tsp. ground cloves,
100 g ground almonds,
1 egg white,
100 g powdered sugar,
3 tbsp. water.
Before you start cooking, preheat the oven to 180°C. In a deep bowl, beat the butter with the sugar until puffy, adding the eggs. Next, grate the chocolate on a fine grater and stir it into the butter mixture. Now it's time to add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and rum, mixing thoroughly. After that, introduce the ground almonds into the dough, creating a dense consistency.
Gently transfer the finished dough into the baking mold, smoothing it out with a spoon. You can add a little water to make the dough easier to spread. Whisk the protein until peaks form and brush the top of the dough with it. Now send the mold to the preheated oven and bake the cake for about 40 minutes. You can check the readiness by piercing the pie with a match - if it comes out dry, then the dessert is ready.
After the cake cools down, prepare the glaze. To do this, mix powdered sugar and water, mixing thoroughly to a homogeneous consistency. Neatly cover the cooled pie with the resulting mixture. For storage it is better to use a tightly closed container, so that the pie remains fresh and does not lose its flavor.
