  • Volunteers put up sea nets to protect against drones: an initiative for the army of Ukraine

    Опубликовано: 2024-10-16 10:00:55

Ukrainian and international charitable foundations, together with partners from the Netherlands, actively help the Ukrainian military by supplying used sea nets, which have become effective protection against enemy drones. This initiative became especially important after the changes in legislation in Europe, when nets lost their original function and turned into a reliable means of protection at the front in Ukraine.

One of the main organizers of the deliveries is Oleg Krot, the founder of the Techia Foundation, who has already proven his commitment to the protection of the defenders of Ukraine by delivering more than 2,400 vehicles to the front since the beginning of the conflict. His team decided to expand the range of protection, and the supply of marine nets was a new step in this direction.

"We are constantly looking for new ways to support our defenders. Supplying nets is one such important step, because they can save lives at the front. This initiative united volunteers and international partners in a common goal," Oleg Krot emphasized.

Roman Bochkala, co-founder of the "Volunteer Battalion", explained that the nets, which were once used by fishermen, now help the Ukrainian military. They become an obstacle for enemy drones, delaying them in the air and protecting fighters on the ground.

"When an enemy drone flies, it can simply physically get stuck in the net, and this will save our soldiers. Because the guys don't always have the opportunity to use EW," added Roman Bochkala, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for the security of the Ukrainian military.

Zoya Shkurko, head of the Public Organization "Petro and Mazepa", emphasized the importance of systematic assistance to the army. She noted that sea nets are actively used on the front line, especially in the Kharkiv direction, where the fiercest battles are taking place.

"We receive many requests from the military and do everything possible to quickly help them protect themselves from drones," said Zoya Shkurko, emphasizing the relevance and necessity of such initiatives to support Ukraine's defense capability.

This initiative became a vivid example of how business, volunteers and international partners unite for the common goal of protecting Ukraine from external threats. They continue to search for new solutions and methods to ensure reliable protection for Ukrainian defenders at the front.
