In the first nine months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified 70 new engineering tools for use in the Defense Forces. Of these, 47 units are domestically produced, while 23 come from foreign partners. This important step allows the Armed Forces to significantly expand their technical capabilities in modern conditions of war.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, emphasizing the importance of both Ukrainian and international technological solutions for increasing the country's defense capabilities. Among the new means is a wide range of equipment that can improve the efficiency and protection of military units.
Domestic engineering developments include anti-cumulative defenses for weapons and military equipment, maintenance modules, modular shelters, unified smoke bombs, as well as generators and power banks for electricity storage. Also among the new means are camouflage kits, which are an important part of defense operations.
Foreign machinery codified this year includes backhoe loaders, bulldozers, bridge structures and public address stations. These tools complement domestic developments and help the Ukrainian army to provide the front with the necessary equipment in difficult combat conditions.
A significant part of the new means — more than 40 units — was codified only in the third quarter of 2024. This indicates the activation of production capacities in the defense industry of Ukraine, which allows us to quickly respond to the needs of the front and provide the army with modern engineering solutions.
Colonel Volodymyr Rochniak, head of the Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Weapons and Military Equipment, emphasized that modern engineering means play a key role in military operations. He also noted that Ukrainian manufacturers not only meet the needs of the front, but also continue to expand their capabilities to further strengthen the country's defense potential.
