  • The secrets of a well-set table

    Table setting is a real art that requires attention to detail and a sense of proportion. However, there are certain rules and a sequence of actions that help to create a harmonious environment and correctly arrange dishes and cutlery.

    The first step is to spread the tablecloth. It should be impeccably clean and evenly arranged, hanging from the edge of the table by about 25 cm.

    The next step is to arrange the plates. Each plate should be placed opposite the chair, 2-3 cm from the edge of the table. The deep plate for the main course is placed in front of the guest, and the dessert plate is served later.

    After the plates, cutlery should be placed. Start with the cutlery for the main course: the knife is placed to the right of the plate, with the blade directed towards it, and the spoon - to the right of the knife, spout up. Forks are placed to the left of the plate.

    Beverage items are placed at a certain distance from the plate. For example, a wine glass is placed on a line crossing the upper edge of the plate, to the right of it can be a flute or a mug for other drinks.

    The final stage is the placement of napkins and devices for spices, such as salt and pepper. They are arranged on special stands.

    It is important to remember that proper table setting not only creates a pleasant environment, but also improves the perception of the prepared food, making lunch or dinner truly special.
