  • Thai-style marinated shrimp: simple and delicious

    Shrimp marinated "Thai-style" is not only delicious, but also an unusual appetizer that can be prepared quickly and easily. This recipe will allow you to create a treat from which it is impossible to tear yourself away. Although originally this dish is called "Lao-style", in this version we use a slightly modified recipe without the mint, so let's call it "Thai-style"!

    For this dish you will need the following ingredients: shrimp (raw and very fresh) - 1 kg, sprouts (you can use soybean sprouts or any other herb or cabbage) - 300 g, lemon grass (lemongrass) - 2 pieces, red onion - 3 pieces, chili pepper - 3 pieces, soy sauce - 100 ml, fish sauce - 100 ml, water - 100 ml.

    First you need to prepare all the ingredients. It is especially important that the shrimp are very fresh.

    If the shrimp are still in the shell, and you want to cook the dish faster, they should be peeled. But if you have time, you can leave them in the shell, but then you will have to marinate for 7-8 hours.

    Wash the sprouts and lay them on the bottom of a flat dish with high walls. Then lay the shrimp on top.

    Slice the onion, chili and lemongrass. You can add garlic and other herbs if desired.

    Sprinkle all of these on top. For the marinade, mix together the water, soy sauce and fish sauce. If you don't have fish sauce, double the amount of soy sauce should be added. You can also add dried chilies for more spice.

    Fill everything with the marinade, put a press (like a plate) on top and put it in the fridge for 1.5-2 hours.

    This dish can be served with or without sprouts, with bread or separately. Bon appetit!
