    Опубликовано: 2024-04-08 09:30:48

Lithuania and Ukraine have signed an agreement to transfer 3,000 Lithuanian drones and allocate 15 million euros for rehabilitation programs for wounded Ukrainian soldiers. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal after a meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingridas Šimonite in Vilnius.

Among other initiatives, Lithuania has also joined the Czech initiative to purchase artillery ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and is allocating 35 million euros for this purpose.

Shmyhal thanked Lithuania for supporting President Zelenskyy's peace formula and for its role in Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. In addition, he noted Lithuania's clear position on blocking the export of Russian and Belarusian agricultural products to the EU.

Lithuania is also trying to help restore Ukraine's energy system by sending equipment to repair energy facilities that were attacked by Russia in March.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced that Lithuania had approved a long-term military aid package to Ukraine worth 200 million euros. Already in January, Lithuania sent ammunition and other equipment to Ukraine, and in February - M577 armored personnel carriers.

Nausėda also emphasized Lithuania's readiness to train Ukrainian soldiers and strengthen cooperation in the defense industry. These initiatives demonstrate the close and friendly relations between Lithuania and Ukraine in the context of a joint effort to counter threats to security and sovereignty.
