Humanitarian aid from Canada: generators for Kharkiv region

The Consulate General of Ukraine in Toronto has joined the initiative to provide assistance to the communities of Kharkiv region by sending generators to the region affected by Russian aggression.

This was announced by Consul General of Ukraine in Toronto Oleg Nikolenko.

He emphasized that Russian missile strikes have caused serious damage to the energy infrastructure in many Ukrainian cities, especially in the Kharkiv region. The government and local services are working around the clock to resolve the crisis.

"Today we have sent generators from Toronto. They will help people to have access to electricity and heat until the general systems are restored. We are also working on sending a new batch of humanitarian aid," he said.

"Our goal is to pull all possible assistance from Canada to support our citizens. This is one of our priorities," the consul emphasized.

Mr. Nikolenko expressed special gratitude to the management of Meest Canada, a postal and logistics operator, who have partnered with the humanitarian mission.

Lithuania is also offering to help restore Ukraine's energy system. The Baltic country is ready to provide equipment to help restore the energy facilities that were attacked by Russia on March 22 and 29.
