Restored and improved: Kyiv region puts into operation 2 bridges damaged by military aggression

Two bridges that were severely damaged by military aggression have been put back into operation in Kyiv region. These bridges are located on public roads of local importance.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Paving Department, shared this important news, saying that they have successfully repaired and commissioned the bridges on the Peremoha-Baryshivka and Korniivka-Nedra-Zgurivka-Berezan roads.

"We started systematic work to restore the bridges immediately after the de-occupation of the region. Although we have created alternative detour routes to ensure unimpeded traffic, our goal was to restore full traffic across these bridges and improve communication between the settlements of Kyiv region," said Kravchenko.

He also added that the repair of another bridge on the Vorzel-Zabuchchia highway through Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka, which was also damaged as a result of military aggression, is already being completed. The total length of this bridge is 48 meters.

As a result of the hostilities in Kyiv region, 21 bridges on public roads were damaged. Some of them received initial major repairs last year.

A pilot project to reconstruct 6 bridges in cooperation with the UK, implemented by the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, is an important step in the restoration of Kyiv region's infrastructure. The British agency is providing a €31 million loan guarantee, and British companies will produce 20% of the metal structures.

Improvements have also been made in Brovary district, where the bridge over the Trubizh River near the village of Zavorichi was overhauled, and in Romanivka, where a new bridge over the Irpin River was opened, symbolizing the "Road of Life."
