21 packages of military assistance to Ukraine worth over €100 million from Finland

On December 21, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, guided by the government's proposal, decided to provide Ukraine with 21 military aid packages worth an impressive 106 million euros.

This was reported on the official website of the Finnish government.

"Finland has committed itself to supporting Ukraine in both the short and long term," said Defense Minister Antti Hakkänen.

The total value of the defense equipment Finland has already provided is an impressive €1.6 billion.

This new aid package has been carefully tailored to Ukraine's specific needs and the state of its defense forces.

In order to ensure the safe delivery of the aid, operational information on the specific content, delivery method and timetable of the aid will be limited.

In addition, the Finnish government has proposed amendments to the draft budget for 2024, which include an increase in spending on assistance to Ukraine. The increase in spending for the period 2024-2028 will amount to almost 96 million euros to cover the cost of procuring the next military assistance package for Ukraine, approved by the President of Finland in October.

In an interview with Ukrinform, Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio said that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Finland has provided Ukraine with €2.1 billion in aid. Of this amount, €1.4 billion was allocated for defense.
