Slovak carriers block the border with Ukraine again: how it will affect the cargo flow

Representatives of the Slovak Union of Road Hauliers decided to block truck traffic through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint on the border with Ukraine, which caused great excitement in the transportation sector. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Slovak border guards announced the restriction at 16:10.

Now the Ukrainian checkpoint Uzhhorod is facing a difficult situation, as 1263 trucks are stuck in an electronic queue to leave for Slovakia. Carriers are restricting the movement of trucks heading from Ukraine to Slovakia, although the movement of trucks leaving Slovakia is not currently blocked.

The Slovak trucking companies took this step to express their dissatisfaction, but the specific reasons for this blockade remain unknown. This decision could significantly affect the flow of goods and international transportation, causing difficulties for the business and economy of both countries.

The SBGS reported that the passage of cars and buses is carried out as usual, but the blocking of cargo traffic could affect regular border traffic and have negative consequences for business operations in both countries.
