  • French authorities have decided to ban the sale of iPhone 12

    Опубликовано: 2023-09-14 13:00:54

The French authorities have decided to ban the sale and require Apple to fix existing iPhone 12 models due to too high a level of electromagnetic radiation that exceeds the norms. This decision was made by the French authorities, and the relevant findings will also be shared with other regulators.

The French radio frequency regulatory authority has ordered Apple to fix the problem and, if the company is unable to resolve it through a software update, it is demanding that all iPhone 12s sold in the country be recalled.

The iPhone 12, which was introduced in September 2020 and is popular all over the world, is now under threat of being sold in the French market.

In response to this decision, Apple has officially announced that it is appealing the decision and claims that it has conducted laboratory tests, including results from third-party experts, which showed that the device complies with all established standards and regulations regarding electromagnetic radiation that apply worldwide.

The French regulator requires an assessment of the level of radiation absorption in two modes of use - when the phone is in direct contact with the human body and in other scenarios, such as carrying it in a bag or jacket pocket.

The SAR (specific absorption of radiation) values for the first mode exceed the established standards, but in the second mode they do not exceed the permissible limit.

This decision has been the subject of discussion and could have serious consequences for Apple and its sales in France.
