  • DP World, a global port operator, is included in the list of international sponsors of war

DP World, a global port operator, has been included in the list of international sponsors of war by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC). It is one of the largest port operations companies based in Dubai. This was reported by the NAPC press service.

According to the Agency's explanation, the reason for this decision was that DP World not only continues to support business with Russia, but also strengthens cooperation with the aggressor. In particular, last month the company signed an agreement with the Russian state corporation Rosatom to develop the Northern Sea Route.

It is worth noting that Rosatom controls the temporarily occupied Chornobyl nuclear power plant.

DP World is a specialist in cargo logistics, port terminal operations, maritime services and free trade zones. The company handles about 70 million containers annually, delivered by about 70,000 ships, and has a presence in more than 69 countries on all continents.

After the agreement with Rosatom was signed, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the development of the Northern Sea Route is a strategic project that will bring approximately 20 trillion rubles ($224 billion) to the Russian budget. This confirms that the terrorist state benefits from cooperation with DP World.

The NACP emphasized that these additional funds will be used by Russia, in particular, to finance the war against Ukraine.

The Northern Sea Route stretches for more than 5,600 kilometers from Murmansk to Vladivostok along the coast of the seas and the Arctic and Pacific Oceans.

The strategic partnership between the companies will help to circumvent sanctions for the transit of goods to Russia, in particular since Rosatom constantly provides services to the Russian military-industrial complex by importing banned components for tanks and aircraft. In addition, other illegal cargo and weapons may be transported via the Northern Sea Route.

It is also worth noting that DP World is actively operating in Ukraine: in 2020, the company acquired 51% of the TIS container terminal in the Pivdennyi Port, which gives it a significant information advantage regarding the state of maritime transportation in Ukraine due to Russian aggression. In addition, DP World transships Ukrainian grain, including work within the "grain corridor".
