Cats and dogs: why we think men and women are so different

There is an old saying describing family life: «Live like a cat with a dog». But does it always mean bad relationships? On the street, stray dogs may not get along with cats, but at home it is often quite different. When cat and dog live together, they often become true friends, and interestingly, in such cases it is the cat that turns out to be dominant.

We once had a cat named Murk and a dog named Trerr. Murka not only ate from the bowl of Trezor, while he waited patiently for his turn, but also managed to crawl in his box, thus evicting the owner. My friends tell a similar story about their pets: they have a good relationship between the bulldog and the cat. This view may be true to some extent, although not all women are like graceful cats, and not all men resemble faithful and strong dogs. Some men, for example, may resemble a lazy cat who has not caught mice for a long time.

Why do many people think that men and women cannot understand each other? I was always puzzled when I said, "In love, like war." Why should love be seen as a battlefield? Is not the world better than good quarrels? And are there great differences between men and women?
