According to the latest survey data, the majority of Ukrainian migrants intend to return to Ukraine, but cannot yet decide on the exact dates of their return. These are the results of a study by the Gradus company.

According to information, 64% of Ukrainian migrants who found themselves abroad recognize the difficulties of adapting to a new life and intend to return home. At the same time, the exact dates of the return remain uncertain.

The adaptation factor plays a key role in the decision to return. In particular, 55% of respondents indicated that it was adaptation problems that influenced their desire to return. Migrants who work remotely for Ukrainian companies (70%) or are temporarily unemployed (68%) are most eager to return.

However, not all Ukrainians abroad feel in danger. About 60% of migrants noted that they feel personal safety abroad, and 65% of respondents are calm about the safety of their children. These factors became important deterrents to returning home.

Regarding the terms of return, the majority of respondents (62%) could not name specific dates. "The uncertainty of the situation caused by the war is the main reason for such uncertainty. Both Ukrainians in Ukraine and migrants abroad cannot clearly plan their future. At the same time, the perspective factor, in particular the desire to ensure a stable future for children, increasingly influences their migration intentions ", - comments Evgenia Blyzniuk, founder and director of Gradus Research.

The study also points to key factors influencing the decision to return. For 41% of respondents, the most important thing is the availability of stable employment in Ukraine, for 36% financial assistance during the return is important, and for 33% — the possibility of obtaining or arranging housing in safe regions of the country.

About a quarter of the respondents (27%) declared their readiness to return to Ukraine in case of strengthening of air defense. These data emphasize that security and stability remain important criteria for Ukrainian migrants planning to return to their homeland.
