At an event held in Istanbul, the leaders of Ukraine and Turkey signed an agreement to establish a system for the electronic exchange of preliminary information between the customs authorities of both countries. According to information posted on the official website of the Office of the President of Ukraine, this happened during a meeting between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the report, the signed document provides for the exchange of information between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Trade of Turkey. It also provides for the creation of an electronic system for the predetermined exchange of data in electronic form.

It is noted that this information will help to speed up the movement of goods and vehicles across the borders of both countries and combat customs offenses.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Turkey's Trade Minister Omer Bolat.

The State Customs Service of Ukraine noted that over the past year, the agency has been actively working on the preparation of the agreement and the development of technical aspects of its implementation.

It is stated that the practical implementation of the agreement will begin in the near future through the organization of information exchange in an automatic mode.

During his visit to Turkey, President Zelenskyy visited shipyards where Ada-class corvettes are being built for the Ukrainian Navy. It is also reported that Ukraine and Turkey have reached an important agreement to continue the liberalization of freight traffic, known as "transport visa-free travel."
