Weapons for protection: Ukraine expands access to the soft lending program

The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada adopted a decision aimed at supporting the country's defense and industrial complex. According to the new law, enterprises engaged in the production of weapons will have access to the "5-7-9" preferential lending program. This became possible thanks to the important decision adopted on May 9, which opens up additional opportunities for the development of the defense industry.

Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development, Dmytro Kysilevskyi, noted that the new law provides for the establishment of interest rates at the level of 7% for investment purposes and 9% for replenishment of working capital. The maximum loan amount is 500 million hryvnias. This will help stimulate the production of weapons in Ukraine and provide the necessary conditions for the development of the defense-industrial complex.

"The development of our own production should be a key priority of the state. This is the essence of the Made in Ukraine policy. The more we produce weapons, ammunition, and civilian goods, the stronger our economy and our defense will be," Kisylevsky emphasized. This is an important step for strengthening national security and economic development of the country.

The "5-7-9" program has already become well-known among small and medium-sized business entrepreneurs, but until now not all sectors of the economy had access to this initiative. The extension of the program to enterprises of the defense-industrial complex opens up new prospects for the development of this strategically important industry.

The adoption of the law took place against the background of active hostilities in the east of the country and the growing need for modern weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Preferential lending will help enterprises of the defense-industrial complex to attract the necessary investments for modernization and expansion of production.
