Finland does not rule out sending foreign troops to Ukraine in the future

According to Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, the possibility of sending foreign troops to Ukraine in the future is not ruled out, but there is no need for it now.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Valtonen noted that French President Emmanuel Macron made the right move by reminding Russia of the limits of Western support for Kyiv by raising the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine.

"Now is not the time to send our troops, and we are not even considering this possibility. However, in the long term, we certainly should not rule out anything," the Finnish Foreign Minister said.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonite also expressed a positive attitude toward Macron's attempt to create "strategic ambiguity."

"What I liked about President Macron's recent statements was his statement that why should we force ourselves to set red lines when Putin, in fact, has no red lines?" she said.
