The Ukrainian car market continues to demonstrate strong demand for new passenger cars, particularly in February this year. According to Ukravtoprom, the largest regional markets were the city of Kyiv and regions such as Kyiv, Dnipropetrovs'k, Lviv and Odesa.
New car sales in these regions accounted for as much as 64% of the total in February. Kyiv residents topped the statistics, buying 2095 new cars, which is 88% more than last year. Kyiv region also showed strong demand, registering 452 new passenger cars (+57%).
Dnipropetrovs'k region also showed brisk sales with 328 cars. Lviv and Odesa regions, respectively, purchased 314 and 298 cars (+37%).
The RENAULT Duster crossover became the bestseller in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovska oblast. At the same time, residents of Kyiv, Odesa and Lviv regions mostly chose the VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 electric car.
In February, Ukrainians purchased almost 5.7 thousand new passenger cars. Most of the cars were sold by the well-known Toyota brand - 858 cars.
Currently, the market leader is RENAULT Duster, which is gaining popularity among buyers.
In February, it is also worth noting the increased interest in hybrid (HEV and PHEV) and electric vehicles (BEV). In particular, more than 1.5 thousand hybrid cars were added to the fleet, and 3924 new battery-powered vehicles appeared.
