The government is preparing for the next heating season: what it means

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made an important decision on May 8 - the Headquarters of Preparation for the Next Heating Season was created. This Headquarters includes representatives of key ministries and agencies, people's deputies and community representatives. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.

The main task of the Headquarters is the coordination of all processes aimed at overcoming the consequences of the Russian energy terror, as well as the modernization and adaptation of the country's fuel and energy complex to new challenges.

"We plan to actively attract help from our partners and pay special attention to solving the debt crisis in the energy sector. Our goal is to provide light and heat in the homes of all Ukrainians for the coming fall and winter, as well as to provide businesses with access to electricity," Shmyhal emphasized.

In addition, the government made a number of important decisions in the energy sector. In particular, electricity subsidies for residents of Kharkiv Oblast, who were left without electricity due to Russian attacks, were increased fivefold.

An important component of the work of the Headquarters will also be the development of an effective response system to any emergency situations related to energy, as well as the search for new ways to avoid similar crises in the future.

The government plans to attract both internal and external resources to successfully implement all measures to prepare for the next heating season, as this issue is at the top of the government's priority list.
