Retail trade in Ukraine grew by almost 8% in April amid recovery in consumer demand

In April 2026, retail trade turnover in Ukraine showed significant growth. Compared to the same month in 2025, the figure increased by 7.8% year-on-year.

This was reported by Delo.ua with reference to data from the State Statistics Service. The agency records a gradual recovery in consumer activity of the population, which is reflected in the growth in retail turnover.

According to the results of the first four months of 2026, the overall dynamics also remain positive. Total retail trade volumes increased by 8.7% compared to the same period in 2025.

Statistics show that Ukrainian retail is gradually adapting to the current economic conditions. Business continues to restructure logistics, assortment and sales channels in accordance with changes in demand.

Analysts note that the growth of retail turnover is one of the indicators of stabilization of the domestic market. The enterprises of the industry demonstrate the ability to maintain work even in conditions of military challenges.

The general trend indicates a gradual recovery of consumer demand of the population, which remains a key driver of the development of the retail sector in Ukraine.
