$2.6 million assistance program launched for Kherson region farmers

A new program to support farmers in the Kherson region is being launched in the State Agrarian Register. A budget of $2.6 million is provided for its implementation. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reported on the launch of the initiative.

The program is aimed at supporting small agricultural producers who work in communities that have suffered significant losses due to the war and adverse weather conditions, in particular drought. Farmers from the Borozen, Kalyniv, Velykooleksandriv, and Vysokopil communities of the Kherson region will be able to receive assistance.

Within the framework of the program, farmers will be provided with financial support, as well as special vouchers for the purchase of necessary resources. In particular, this concerns the purchase of drought-resistant seeds, drip irrigation systems, and other materials necessary for stable farming in difficult climate conditions.

The Ministry of Economy emphasizes that the program should help small producers resume production and adapt to new challenges related to the consequences of hostilities and moisture shortages.

To participate in the program, farms must meet several mandatory criteria. In particular, the area of ​​the farm must be from 3 to 300 hectares. In addition, agricultural producers must be registered in the State Agrarian Register.

Submission of applications for assistance started on May 8, 2026. Acceptance of documents will continue until June 1, 2026 inclusive.

The department expects that the new program will support farmers in the affected areas and will contribute to the preservation of agricultural production in the region, which continues to operate under military and climatic risks.
