A program of targeted cash payments for citizens from vulnerable categories has been launched in Ukraine since the beginning of April. This is a one-time payment of 1,500 hryvnias, which the state has directed to support those who are most in need of financial assistance in a difficult socio-economic situation.
The list of recipients includes pensioners by age, people with disabilities, low-income families, citizens receiving basic social assistance, internally displaced persons among recipients of social payments, large families, as well as single mothers. Thus, the program covers a wide range of the population living in an area of increased social risk.
Yulia Svyrydenko reported on the progress of the initiative. According to her, millions of citizens across the country have already received payments, and the process continues to gain momentum.
In particular, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has already provided payments for 9.7 million pensioners. Of these, approximately 8 million people received funds directly to their bank accounts, which significantly accelerated the process. At the same time, payments for 1.7 million citizens are made through Ukrposhta, which allows even remote settlements to be covered.
In addition to pensioners, the state plans to complete financing of assistance for another 1.6 million recipients of various social payments in the near future. According to Svyrydenko, these funds should be transferred by the end of this week.
In general, the program provides for providing assistance to approximately 13 million Ukrainians. The government assures that all planned payments will be made by the end of April, which will ensure timely support for citizens.
The implementation of this initiative is one of the key steps of the state towards social protection of the population. In conditions of economic challenges, such measures help reduce the financial burden on the most vulnerable groups and support their stability.
