There are almost 3 thousand companies with foreign owners in Ukraine that submit financial statements every year and have an annual income of at least UAH 100 million. Such data is provided by Opendatabot, which analyzed information from the Unified State Register as of mid-March 2026.
The largest share among foreign owners is occupied by residents of Cyprus - 694 companies, which is almost a quarter of all businesses from abroad. This is followed by citizens of Germany - 300 companies, the USA - 292, the Netherlands - 239, the UK - 224, Austria - 187 and Poland - 146.
Experts note that Cyprus and the Netherlands have long been key "hubs" for structuring Ukrainian business. It is through these countries that companies investing and operating in the Ukrainian market are often registered.
By regional distribution, almost half of such companies are registered in Kyiv — 1,478 businesses. Next are Lviv and Kyiv regions — 223 companies in each region. The least foreign business is in the front-line territories — Kherson and Donetsk regions.
In terms of areas of activity, more than a quarter of foreign investor companies operate in wholesale trade — 774 businesses. A significant number of companies are also involved in the agricultural sector — 268 enterprises, and another 176 companies operate in the field of information technology.
Analysts emphasize that foreign investments not only support key sectors of the Ukrainian economy, but also contribute to the development of modern technologies and the expansion of the country's export potential. The presence of companies with stable revenues of over UAH 100 million demonstrates a high level of trust in the Ukrainian market among international investors.
