A recent ranking of the most attractive cities for digital nomads, people who work remotely and choose their place of residence based on comfort, cost of living and quality of infrastructure, was published in Europe. The study covered 35 popular cities and evaluated them according to key criteria: housing and food prices, internet speed, transport accessibility and safety, reports the Daily Mail.
First place in the ranking went to Krakow, the second largest city in Poland, scoring 161 points out of 175 possible. The average monthly cost of living here is approximately 1,423 euros. Food costs are estimated at 148 euros, the Internet costs about 16 euros per month, and the level of safety received a score of 75.08 out of 100.
Second place went to Warsaw, the capital of Poland. This city attracts remote workers with its lower cost of living — about 1,265 euros per month, and the level of safety was assessed at 74.66 points. As a result, the Polish capital scored 150 out of 175 points, firmly establishing itself among the leaders of the rating.
Budapest is in third place. In the Hungarian capital, remote workers spend an average of about 1,542 euros per month. Public transport costs remain low — about 23 euros for a monthly pass, and the city scored 147 points out of 175 possible.
Prague and Tallinn also made the top five. In the Czech capital, the cost of living is moderate — about 1,271 euros per month, and the city received 141 points. Tallinn, Estonia, despite the higher cost of living (over 2,542 euros per month), attracts with its stable internet, high-quality infrastructure and comfortable environment for remote work.
The top ten also includes Madrid and Seville in Spain, Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, and Dubrovnik in Croatia. Experts note that one of the main factors for digital nomads is access to fast and inexpensive internet. Krakow and Warsaw stand out in this aspect, offering one of the best price-quality ratios, which has made them popular among freelancers from all over the world.
