Ukraine received four generators with a total capacity of 1.62 MW from Belgium

Ukraine received four generators with a total capacity of 1.62 MW from Belgium. The equipment is designed to increase the reliability of the capital's energy supply in the face of constant attacks on critical infrastructure.

As reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the generators were transferred through the Belgian development agency Enabel. They were received for the needs of the municipal enterprise "Kyivteploenergo", which provides heat supply to the capital.

The department specified that the new equipment will allow to strengthen the stability of the Kyiv heat supply system and ensure uninterrupted operation in conditions of damage to energy facilities. The generators will become a backup power source and will contribute to the stable passage of the heating season.

Belgium has systematically supported the Ukrainian energy sector since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. During this time, the country has transferred more than 154 tons of humanitarian aid for the energy sector and contributed 2.5 million euros to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine.

A separate area of ​​cooperation was the financing of the purchase of solar power plants for hospitals within the framework of the “Ray of Hope” initiative. This allows medical institutions to provide autonomous power supply and increase their energy independence.

In addition, within the framework of the partnership with Enabel, the Belgian side supports repair work and the supply of equipment for heat and cogeneration capacities. Such assistance is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s energy security and increasing the resilience of its critical infrastructure.
