President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the first German-Ukrainian joint venture has already produced the first attack drone for the Ukrainian army. In total, 10,000 such drones are planned to be transferred to Ukraine in 2026, which will significantly increase the country's defense capabilities.
"Today, I accepted the first jointly produced attack drone, inspected the production line and witnessed the first flight of the drone," Zelenskyy wrote, emphasizing the modernity of Ukrainian technology. The drones are equipped with artificial intelligence and are designed for reconnaissance, strikes and protection of military units.
The opening of the first enterprise was the first step in a large-scale program to create Ukrainian drone production in Europe. By the end of the year, it is planned to launch ten more such enterprises, which will allow Ukraine to increase the production of attack drones and strengthen its own defense industry.
The President thanked Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the German government, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, and the German people for their support for Ukraine. He also emphasized that the country is ready to share the combat experience and technologies it has gained while defending its territory.
In addition, Zelensky announced the launch of an export program for Ukrainian defense technologies. In 2026, 10 export centers will be operational in Europe, and the first Ukrainian-made drone will be ready at a German enterprise in mid-February. The controlled export program will allow raising funds for the purchase of scarce drones that are currently needed on the front.
Back in October 2025, Zelensky instructed the government to launch a program for the controlled export of domestically produced weapons. Ukraine has the first proposals for the supply of naval drones and other systems tested in real war conditions, which demonstrates to partners the reliability and modernity of Ukrainian defense technologies.
