The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the next stage of infrastructure recovery, agreeing to finance 23 new projects within the framework of the "Recovery of Ukraine III" program. The relevant decision was made by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
According to the press service of the ministry, the selection of projects was carried out based on the results of three meetings of the expert working group responsible for the preparation and implementation of joint initiatives of Ukraine with the European Investment Bank. As a result, projects in three regions of the country were recommended for funding.
The largest package — eight projects — was approved for Sumy region. They provide for the reconstruction and repair of medical facilities in Konotop and Okhtyrsk communities, the arrangement of shelters in Dubovyazivska and Sumy communities, as well as the renovation of sewage and wastewater treatment networks in Glukhiv and Sumy communities. In addition, the construction of two new water pipelines is planned in Trostyanets community.
Nine infrastructure projects have been approved for Kharkiv Oblast. They include emergency and restoration work and major repairs of medical facilities in Dergachivska, Balakliya and Kharkiv communities. Major repairs of educational institutions in Pechenizka and Berestynska communities are also planned.
Particular attention in Kharkiv Oblast is paid to water supply and security facilities. In particular, the reconstruction of water supply in Balakliya and Slobozhanska communities, the restoration of a hydropower plant in Pechenizka community, as well as the arrangement of a shelter in a kindergarten in Biliaivska community are planned.
In Chernihiv Oblast, six projects have been selected for funding. They include the construction of a water supply system in the Horodnyanska community, the construction of shelters in preschools and medical facilities in the Bereznyanska and Ichnyanska communities, the construction of shelters in the Bobrovytska and Osterska communities, and the modernization of the drainage system in the Nizhynska community.
All 23 projects are financed under the Recovery of Ukraine III program (tranche B), which is jointly implemented by the Government of Ukraine and the European Investment Bank. The total amount of the agreement is EUR 100 million, which will be used to rebuild critical infrastructure in the regions.
