The Kyiv City Hall reported on the arrival of another batch of generators from the city administration and the Warsaw community. This time, the capital of Ukraine received 31 units of electrical equipment, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said.
According to him, the first batch of generators, consisting of 59 power sources, arrived in Kyiv last Friday. Thus, the total number of equipment transferred by the Polish capital reached 90 units. Most of the generators are diesel, with a capacity of 10 to 64 kW.
Klitschko noted that the first batch of generators was immediately distributed to districts of Kyiv where there were problems with restoring heat and electricity supply to houses. This allowed temporarily ensuring stable operation of important equipment in residential areas.
The Kyiv Mayor recalled that he had appealed to international partners with a request to help the capital overcome the emergency situation. Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski promptly responded to the appeal, called personally and offered support, thanks to which the generators were quickly delivered to Kyiv.
In addition, Klitschko reported that the next batch of generators purchased with charitable funds from Polish citizens is expected soon. Last week, Kyiv already received the first charitable batch — 130 generators of various capacities.
He emphasized that 60,000 Poles responded to the fundraising for this aid, who collected almost 2 million euros in 10 days. According to the mayor, such support is important for stabilizing Kyiv's energy supply in the conditions of an emergency.
