The number of individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine has increased again: results of the beginning of 2026

At the beginning of 2026, another increase in the number of individual entrepreneurs was recorded in Ukraine. According to the analytical platform "Opendatabot", the total number of registered individual entrepreneurs in the country exceeded 2.1 million, which indicates the preservation of positive dynamics of entrepreneurial activity.

According to the published information, as of the beginning of the year, there were 2,181,217 individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine. In less than a month, their number increased by 6 thousand compared to the indicator at the end of 2025.

"Opendatabot" notes that the increase in the number of individual entrepreneurs is recorded throughout the entire period of full-scale war. Over four years, the number of entrepreneurs in this status has increased by a total of 194 thousand people. Such conclusions are based on data from the Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs, Companies and Public Formations.

At the same time, analysts draw attention to the gradual slowdown in growth rates. The most noticeable increase was recorded in 2023, when the number of individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine increased by more than 5% year-on-year.

In 2024, the growth rate was already lower and amounted to 3.5%. This indicated a certain stabilization of the business environment after a sharp jump in the previous year.

In 2025, the dynamics became even more restrained: the increase in the number of individual entrepreneurs amounted to only 0.39%. Despite this, the overall trend remains positive, and the increase in the number of entrepreneurs at the beginning of 2026 confirms the continued interest of Ukrainians in running their own business even in a difficult economic situation.
