Ukraine has updated its employment policy until 2030: inclusion and European standards

The Government of Ukraine has adopted the Employment Strategy for the period until 2030, identifying key priorities of the state policy in the labor sphere. This was announced by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The document is aimed at ensuring the country's socio-economic development, preserving human capital and overcoming the shortage of personnel, which is critically important for economic recovery. Special emphasis is placed on the development of an inclusive labor market and creating decent employment conditions for all categories of citizens.

The strategy provides for expanding employment opportunities for the population, effective management of demographic challenges, as well as the introduction of modern digital labor market tools. The implementation of these tasks is entrusted to state institutions, which will work in partnership with business and social dialogue parties.

The document pays special attention to the approximation of the national employment system to European Union standards. This includes modernizing employee support mechanisms, integrating inclusive practices, and increasing the efficiency of public employment services.

An operational action plan for 2026–2028 has been approved for the practical implementation of the Strategy. It identifies specific steps to develop professional training, improve employee skills, stimulate entrepreneurial activity, and ensure access to jobs for people with special needs.

Experts note that the updated employment policy creates the prerequisites for the stable development of the labor market, attracting investment, and forming a flexible and competitive economy capable of meeting modern challenges and requirements of the global market.
