  • Ministry of Defense expands procurement through DOT-Chain Defence: another UAH 2.1 billion for drones and equipment for the front

    Опубликовано: 2025-12-05 13:00:59

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has increased the volume of financing for procurement through the DOT-Chain Defence platform, allocating an additional UAH 2.1 billion for the purchase of drones and other equipment for the needs of the Armed Forces. Thanks to this step, brigades will be able to more quickly provide themselves with the necessary equipment to perform combat missions. In total, almost UAH 6.3 billion has already been allocated for procurement since the launch of the marketplace.

DOT-Chain Defence works as an online marketplace, where combat units independently select the necessary drone models and other types of equipment. After forming an order, the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense takes on full support: from concluding contracts with manufacturers to making payments. This format minimizes bureaucracy and avoids delays in the supply of equipment.

According to the Ministry, the key advantage of the platform is the speed of delivery. The average time to receive FPV drones — from the moment of placing an order to their transfer to a military unit — is only 10 days. This significantly speeds up the renewal of the fleet of equipment on the front line and allows brigades to quickly adapt to the situation on the battlefield.

The expansion of funding is also accompanied by further development of the platform’s functionality. In the coming months, the Defense Procurement Agency plans to launch a new tool — a drone designer. It will allow the military to independently configure the drone according to specific tasks — reconnaissance, strike operations, artillery correction or other needs.

The designer will provide for the ability to select key components: camera type, frequency range, flight altitude and range parameters, as well as other technical characteristics. This will ensure more accurate adaptation of the equipment to the conditions of a specific operation, increasing the effectiveness of drones on the battlefield.

The Ministry of Defense notes that the development of the new functionality has already passed the first stage, and the DOT-Chain Defence team is working on integrating it into the platform's IT system. After launch, the designer will become another tool that will allow brigades to quickly receive precisely the technological solutions that meet their combat needs.
