The Pension Fund of Ukraine has published an updated indicator of the average salary, from which insurance contributions are paid and which is used to determine the size of pensions. According to the agency, in October 2025 this indicator was 21,578 UAH 46 kopecks, which is more than 388 UAH more than in September.
The official decision to approve the indicator was made on November 25, 2025. The PFU reminds that this value, according to the law “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”, is a key component of the formula by which the size of pension payments for citizens retiring is calculated.
The growth of the average salary indicator has been observed throughout the year. Since the beginning of 2025, it has increased by more than 2,918 UAH, which indicates the overall positive dynamics of the salary base, which is taken into account when calculating pensions.
Comparative data confirm significant fluctuations in this indicator from month to month. Thus, in September the average salary for pension calculations was UAH 21,190 31 kopecks, in August - UAH 19,813 71 kopecks, in July - UAH 20,455 65 kopecks. In June it temporarily increased to UAH 22,336 81 kopecks, and in May it was UAH 20,355 40 kopecks. In April the indicator was UAH 19,856 19 kopecks, in March - UAH 19,430 52 kopecks, in February - UAH 18,589 38 kopecks, and in January - UAH 18,660 32 kopecks.
Such fluctuations demonstrate seasonality and economic impacts on the payroll in the country. Since this indicator is important for calculating pension benefits, its changes are directly reflected in the future pensions of citizens planning to retire in 2025. The increase in the average salary generally contributes to an increase in the size of pension accruals, although monthly fluctuations may affect individual payments.
