Nordic and Baltic countries announce joint allocation of $500 million for military support to Ukraine

On November 13, 2025, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden announced a joint allocation of $500 million for the supply of military equipment and ammunition to Ukraine. This was reported by the NATO press service.

The assistance will be provided through the United States as part of NATO’s “Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List” (PURL) initiative. It provides for the supply of equipment and materials that are critical for the Ukrainian defense forces during the winter period.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted the importance of this decision in supporting Ukraine. “This equipment is extremely important as Ukraine enters the winter months. Supplies through PURL are arriving in the country, and NATO Allies will continue to provide Ukraine with the necessary equipment and materials,” he stressed.

The allocated assistance package includes modern ammunition and equipment that meets the priority needs of Ukrainian units at the front. Its delivery ensures the operational strengthening of defense capabilities and allows preparing for winter combat conditions.

This decision demonstrates the joint solidarity of the Nordic and Baltic states with Ukraine and emphasizes NATO's readiness to support the country in a critical period. At the same time, it is part of the alliance's broader strategy to strengthen security and stability in Europe.

Experts note that such assistance packages contribute to the long-term support of Ukraine's defense capabilities, ensure technological modernization of military equipment and strengthen international coordination among NATO allies.
