Britain Delivers Hundreds of Missiles to Ukraine to Strengthen Air Defense

During the latest UK trade mission to Kyiv, it was announced that hundreds of Light Multi-Missiles (LMMs) for the Ukrainian air defense system would be delivered ahead of schedule. These missiles are already being actively used to protect Ukrainian airspace, the official website of the British government reports.

The missiles were manufactured in Belfast as part of the Ukraine Support Program. According to the British delegation, the latest stage of the £1.6 billion deal, signed earlier this year, will integrate LMM missiles into Ukraine’s national air defense and significantly strengthen the country’s sovereign defense capabilities.

It is noted that the delivery took place five months ahead of schedule. These missiles are already being used to protect critical infrastructure, providing reliable protection of civilian and military facilities from air threats.

In addition, the largest Ukrainian drone manufacturer has invested £200 million in drone production in the UK. According to company representatives, the investment will create 500 highly skilled jobs and strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, contributing to the development of modern technologies and production facilities.

Thanks to trade missions between Ukraine and the UK, more than 30 joint ventures and partnerships have already been established, covering the fields of defense, high technology and industry. Such initiatives contribute to the development of technology, job creation and increasing the defense capabilities of both countries.

The UK Minister for Defense Preparedness and Industry, Luke Pollard, emphasized that London firmly supports Ukraine in countering Russian aggression. "This year alone, the UK will spend £4.5 billion on military assistance to Ukraine. The development of industrial partnerships allows us to build together the industrial base necessary to protect and deter the aggressor," he noted.

Thus, the early delivery of LMM missiles and the expansion of joint defense projects confirm the strategic role of the United Kingdom in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and developing its industrial and technical potential.
