Bus Transportation Reform in Ukraine: What Will Change from June 18

At the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, held on June 18, a resolution was adopted aimed at streamlining the passenger bus transportation system in Ukraine. This step provides for a number of important changes aimed at improving control and ensuring passenger safety.

One of the key innovations is the mandatory digital registration of irregular transportation in the Unified Complex of Information Systems. These measures will provide a more transparent and effective system of control over the performance of transportation, avoiding tax evasion and ensuring the protection of passenger rights.

According to the resolution, each carrier is obliged to have an electronic ticket as confirmation of the concluded transportation contract. This is an important step towards ensuring the rights and safety of passengers, especially in cases of insurance claims.

In addition, information about the carrier's liability insurance will be displayed on the buses, which will make the transportation process even more transparent and safe for transport users.

Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Serhiy Derkach emphasized that the innovations will allow to avoid situations when regular transportation is carried out without appropriate permits and the necessary taxes are not paid.

The implementation of these measures is planned within three months after their official publication. This will create conditions for a more transparent, safe and efficient bus transportation system in Ukraine, ensuring the protection and interests of both passengers and carriers.
