Summer on the labor market: seasonal vacancies are growing, young people are looking for part-time work

With the onset of summer, the seasonal employment market in Ukraine has become more active. Traditionally, during this period of the year, both the number of temporary job offers and interest among young people, in particular those under 18, who are seeking to find part-time work for the holidays, increases. According to the State Employment Service of Ukraine, 123 minors are currently looking for work.

The database of the State Employment Service currently records 628 current seasonal vacancies. They cover both physical and organizational work, including specialties that are traditionally in demand in the summer. Among them are auxiliary workers, teachers-organizers for working with children, stewards for passenger service, fruit and vegetable growers, as well as specialists in comprehensive agricultural production services.

The largest number of temporary jobs has been opened in the field of agriculture, tourism services, and the processing industry. These industries usually become more active in the summer, which is due to both the seasonality of production processes and the increase in demand for services during the holiday season.

In general, the situation on the labor market demonstrates positive dynamics. If at the beginning of 2025 there were 47 thousand vacancies in the Employment Service database, then as of June 1, their number had increased by 40% - to 66 thousand. This indicates the resumption of business activity and the need for enterprises for additional labor.

The most significant increase in vacancies was recorded in four sectors of the economy: agriculture, construction, trade and processing industry. All of these industries not only need seasonal workers, but also offer opportunities for long-term employment.

Thus, the labor market in the summer of 2025 shows signs of stability and growth, offering a wide range of vacancies for both experienced specialists and young people who are just starting their careers. The State Employment Service encourages those interested to actively use the available offers and consult with specialists for an effective job search.
