New participants have joined the state's cyber defense: the SVV system already covers 96 institutions

In the first quarter of 2025, the Vulnerability Detection System (VDS), administered by the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, significantly expanded its coverage. Six more state organizations joined the cyber defense system, bringing the total number of participants to 96 institutions.

According to the press service of the State Service for Special Communications, the SVV is a key element of the state strategy for protection against cyber threats. The system operates on the basis of a wide network of sensors that monitor suspicious activity in the information systems of state structures and critical infrastructure facilities around the clock.

The information collected by the sensors is transmitted to the Operational Center for Response to Cyber ​​Incidents. Here, analysts process data, promptly identify potential threats and take measures to neutralize them, ensuring the security of the country's information space.

Currently, the SVV system provides protection for more than 38 thousand servers and workstations belonging to critical infrastructure facilities. This includes government agencies, energy sector enterprises, as well as structures operating in the field of national defense.

Among the main components of the SVV, three key services should be highlighted: NDR (network sensors), EDR (endpoint protection) and ASM (attack surface management). Each of these elements plays its role in ensuring cyber resilience, and their implementation is carried out taking into account the specific needs of each institution.

The EDR subsystem, which takes care of endpoint security, deserves special attention - it is it that provides reliable protection for tens of thousands of devices used in Ukraine's critical infrastructure. This level of cyber protection is especially important in the context of ongoing hybrid warfare and constant threats from hostile hacker groups.
