Ukraine to receive 26 more GCS-200 mechanized demining machines

In 2025, Ukraine will receive 26 more GCS-200 mechanized demining machines, which will supplement the already existing 62 units of this equipment, which are actively operating in various regions of the country. This decision was made within the framework of demining programs supported by international partners.

The GCS-200 machines were developed by the Swiss-German company Global Clearance Solutions, which also carries out their testing and supply. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine visited this company to get acquainted with the process of manufacturing and testing the equipment that will be used for land demining in the deoccupied territories.

The project is financed by international partners, including the governments of Germany, Switzerland, Canada, the USA, the UK and Lithuania, as well as through the support of the United24 platform, which actively raises funds to support the Ukrainian armed forces and the country's post-war reconstruction.

The GCS-200 is an unmanned multi-purpose platform capable of performing a variety of tasks, including mechanized demining. It has several modifications, including a tracked one, which allows the machine to be extremely maneuverable and capable of making turns on the spot with a minimum radius of only about four meters.

These machines significantly increase the efficiency of demining areas that were previously mined by enemy forces. Deputy Head of the Main Department of Mine Action of Ukraine, Yevhen Zubarevsky, emphasized that the use of mechanized machines for demining significantly reduces the risks for sappers and speeds up the process of clearing territories. They allow clearing large areas of land from explosive objects with less time and effort.

In the future, with the increase in the number of such machines, demining will become more effective, and the process of restoring peaceful life in the liberated territories of Ukraine will be much faster and safer.
