In 2025, 100 new modern workshops and laboratories will be established in vocational and technical education institutions. The government has allocated UAH 540 million for this initiative under the state program "100 Workshops". The goal of the program is to provide students with modern skills and adapt them to the requirements of the digital economy.
The statement on the expansion of this program was made by the head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs Mykhailo Fedorov. According to him, the project became a locomotive for major reforms of the vocational education system, ensuring high-quality training of specialists and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in labor markets.
Already in 2024, thanks to the program, equipment was updated in 88 vocational education institutions. Students gained access to modern technologies, including agricultural drones, VR welding simulators and machine tools. This program is scheduled to be continued in 2025, and regions will be able to submit applications for the implementation of energy-efficient projects as early as 2026.
Vocational and technical education is becoming increasingly popular. According to Work.ua, 85% of vacancies in the labor market are in specialties that prepare vocational technicians. The greatest demand is for electricians, builders, and mechanics. Vocational education institutions offer education in over 400 professions, which creates wide opportunities for employment.
Adults, including veterans, internally displaced persons, and those planning to change their profession, are increasingly turning to vocational education.
