US Continues to Support Ukraine: New $500 Million Military Assistance Package

The United States has announced a new $500 million military assistance package for Ukraine. This support, the 72nd in a row, is aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces in the fight against Russian aggression.

According to information published on the White House website, the package includes ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and 155 and 105 mm artillery systems, HARM anti-radiation missiles and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAS) control systems.

In addition, Ukraine will receive Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, TOW missiles, mine-resistant tactical MRAP vehicles and other equipment aimed at increasing the effectiveness of protection.

The new package includes chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear protective equipment, grenades, explosive devices, spare parts and equipment for training military forces.

Overall, John Kirby, the White House National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator, said the United States will continue to support Ukraine until the end of this administration. He noted that each assistance package is targeted at specific needs arising from the current circumstances on the battlefield.
