British dentists have begun to actively discuss the importance of protection during intimate life, especially in the context of oral sex. They argue that this type of intimate activity can carry the risk of transmitting various infections, including pathogens of dangerous diseases. To better understand this issue, experts began to take an interest in the sex lives of their patients, including the number of recent sexual partners.
Research conducted by psychologists from London revealed interesting results about women's preferences in relationships. Female participants were asked to watch videos of men telling jokes, among which there were both those who did not have serious relationships and those who were faithful to their partners. In the end, the girls chose the most romantic men - those who could tell jokes. Women noted that the jokes of guys who were walking around were often flat and focused exclusively on sexual topics.
Additional surveys confirmed that when a man tries to joke around by telling a silly story, women intuitively sense his potential infidelity and stop further communication. This emphasizes the importance of communication in relationships: wit and the ability to joke are perceived as positive qualities that contribute to the formation of trusting bonds.
As such, dentists have decided to take the initiative to educate patients about the risks associated with unprotected oral sex. They will ask questions about sexual activity in order to identify people with an increased risk of developing diseases related to oral cancer. This measure aims to prevent diseases such as tumors of the tongue, lips, gums and throat.
Scientific studies show that unprotected oral sex can be a risk factor for oral cancer, especially because of its association with the human papillomavirus (HPV). Risk factors also include smoking and alcohol abuse. A British cancer charity has developed guidelines for dentists to refer at-risk patients for early diagnosis of tumors.
Thus, dentists are beginning to recognize the importance of prevention not only in dental health, but also in intimate care. They are striving to create a safe environment where patients can openly discuss their concerns and receive guidance on how to address them. Risk awareness and assistance with early diagnosis can play a key role in preventing serious intimate-related diseases.
