The government paid 100 million hryvnias for creating working conditions for people with disabilities

The Ukrainian government compensated employers with more than 100 million hryvnias for arranging workplaces for people with disabilities. Thanks to this program, 1,500 specialists have been employed since the beginning of 2024. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reports.

According to Berezhna, more than a thousand entrepreneurs received reimbursement for the costs of special furniture, equipment and assistive devices necessary for the comfortable work of employees with disabilities. She emphasized that the state helps eliminate barriers for such employees, providing them with safe and comfortable working conditions.

"We help employers adapt the working environment for people with disabilities, compensating for the costs of arranging their workplaces. Everyone has the right to work in conditions that meet their needs," the official noted.

The program covers enterprises from all regions of Ukraine. The largest number of compensations was received by employers in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odessa regions, as well as the city of Kyiv. In 2024, the average amount of compensation was 68 thousand hryvnias.

With these funds, employers equipped workplaces with various equipment: tactile materials for floors and stairs, crawler lifts, platforms for people in wheelchairs, as well as specialized furniture for employees with back problems.

In addition, computers with eye protection, special desk lamps for people with visual impairments, telephones and headphones for people with hearing impairments, as well as communication equipment were purchased. Thanks to these measures, employees with disabilities were able to perform their professional duties in comfortable and safe conditions, contributing to their own professional development and integration into society.
