Brave1 helps attract $25 million in foreign investment for Ukrainian defense technologies

Since the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian defense technology developers have attracted more than $25 million in foreign investment thanks to the Brave1 initiative, which supports cooperation between investors and Ukrainian companies. Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, announced the results of the platform. Already this year, the amount of investments has increased five times compared to 2023, when investments in defense startups amounted to only $5 million.

Thanks to meetings organized by Brave1 with representatives of venture funds and investors, Ukrainian companies get new opportunities to expand their projects. One of the key formats of Brave1's work has become Invest Demo Days, during which participants have the opportunity to present their developments to investors, which often leads to the conclusion of multimillion-dollar deals. An example of such successful cooperation is the start-up Swarmer, which develops artificial intelligence to control swarms of drones. At one such event, the company received $2.7 million in investment.

Brave1 also created a directory of companies called Pitchbook, which contains information on more than 130 Ukrainian defense startups. The monthly update of the Pitchbook allows investors to get a complete picture of the Ukrainian defense innovation system, as well as the most promising projects that need support. According to ambitious plans, Brave1 expects to attract another $50 million in investment by the end of the year, which will allow to accelerate the development of innovative solutions in the defense industry.

The more funding Ukrainian developers receive, the faster their projects develop, strengthening the country's defense capabilities. Fedorov noted that in just one month, more than 200 new developments appear on the Brave1 platform, each of which requires significant funding. This illustrates the growing interest in technological solutions aimed at strengthening the security of the state.

In addition to investment measures, Brave1 provides government grants to support startups. The platform regularly organizes meetings between developers and investors, which contributes to the attraction of private capital and the creation of new projects in the field of defense. Such activity is extremely important in the conditions when Ukraine needs to strengthen its own defense potential.

The development of innovative technologies and increased investment in this industry creates conditions for the active development of Ukrainian defense startups, which can become a decisive factor in the future of the country's security.
