Iron Women program: Ministry of Economy launches free retraining for women

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine announced the launch of a new educational initiative "Iron Women" aimed at free retraining of women from all over the country. The program provides an opportunity to acquire new professional skills in the field of construction machinery management.

As part of this initiative, participants will be able to train as excavator operators or front loader drivers. The first pilot group of the program will unite 12 women who meet the established participation criteria.

According to the official announcement, women over the age of 18 who already have a valid driver's license of any category and have some experience driving machinery can participate in the program.

You can apply for participation in the program until October 6, 2024, using the appropriate form on the website. The start of studies is planned for October 2024.

The Ministry of Economy emphasizes that program participants will receive free education, accommodation and food, which will be fully covered by the Reskilling Ukraine project.

The main program includes both theoretical and practical training, completed by a professional certification. After successfully completing the training, the participants will receive the qualification of "excavator operator of the 5th category" or "forklift driver of the 4th category". These qualifications will allow you to work in enterprises with limited access to public roads.

The program is implemented in cooperation with the Swedish non-profit organization Beredskapslyftet, which is supported by Volvo Construction Equipment and ETS Group. The initiative is aimed at improving the qualifications of women and promoting their inclusion in the construction machinery sector.
