The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine actively cooperates with one of the leaders of cloud technologies — Amazon Web Services (AWS). During a recent meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Digital Affairs with the top management of AWS, key aspects of cooperation were discussed, in particular, the development of a national cloud strategy and the introduction of innovations into the digital infrastructure of Ukraine.

The Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the results of the meeting, emphasizing the importance of this cooperation to ensure the continuous operation of state services. The minister held talks with Liam Maxwell, director of government transformation at AWS, which was the first visit by company representatives to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war.

Amazon Web Services has remained a strategic partner of Ukraine since the signing of the memorandum in 2022, when the company undertook to support the country's digital infrastructure. Since February 2022, AWS has already provided $75 million in aid to Ukraine, which includes cloud services, products and educational programs for the development of the digital sphere.

Thanks to the cooperation with AWS, currently 38 state registries and 24 universities use cloud solutions to save backup copies of their data. This approach makes it possible to guarantee uninterrupted operation of important state systems even in difficult conditions of war. According to Fedorov, Amazon's cloud technologies are also actively used by the Diya platform to save its data, which makes the service resistant to possible technical failures due to shelling or power outages.

The meeting also discussed the integration of the latest technologies, such as artificial intelligence and AWS digital products, into government projects. AWS is already actively involved in the development of a national cloud strategy, and Liam Maxwell has joined the advisory board to coordinate this work.

"Digital innovations and modern technologies contribute to the development of Ukraine in various directions - from the protection of state registers to the implementation of defense solutions. Together with Amazon Web Services, we are building a digital and secure Ukraine of the future," concluded Mykhailo Fedorov.
