The United States of America announced the allocation of $800 million for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector, which suffered significant damage due to missile attacks by the Russian Federation. This decision was the key result of the recent visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the USA.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko announced this. According to her, during the meeting in the USA, energy issues became one of the main topics for discussion. Together with the US Deputy Minister of Energy, David Terk, Svyridenko discussed the urgent measures needed to restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
The minister emphasized that more than 50% of Ukrainian energy infrastructure was damaged as a result of Russian attacks. In this context, she expressed deep gratitude for the American support, in particular for the funding of $800 million, which will be directed to the recovery of the energy sector.
Svyridenko also noted that during the visit, the Ukrainian delegation provided a list of critical equipment needed for urgent repair. This list was compiled by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and is important for the effective use of the provided financial resources.
American funding will be an important step in the creation of passive protection systems for the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, which is critical for ensuring the stability of energy supply in the country. It also marks a new level of international support for Ukraine's recovery after the severe damage caused by military operations.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side will continue cooperation with international partners to ensure transparency and efficiency in the use of financial resources. It is expected that these measures will help significantly improve the state of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure and ensure the reliability of energy supplies in the near future.
